To be honest, I am
not a person who is very familiar with or interesting in politics and military affair.
So many times, I just would like to read the articles the parts that are more
related to my life. And as a student, news on education can always attract my
attention. In generally, I would like to read news about China. Because I have
acquaintance with that country, it can arouse echo in my heart, and it is a really
bran-new feeling to read how American journalists write about China. One’s
opinion tends to differ in accordance with one’s standpoint. So knowing the real
thinking of Americans always makes me thinking a lot. For example, a piece of news
that attracted my attention is that Obama blamed that many American company
build their factors out of America; they build them abroad rather than domestic.
So he pointed out that such companies like Apple should bring their factor back
so that there will be more work chances in America, which can enhance the rate
of employment. But the New York Times shows the real facts in these factories;
it shows why these America companies choose China to process their products,
and why they don’t want to move back. Actually, Chinese people are all know that
we can’t get a lot benefits and valuable work opportunity from such commercial activities.
We can attract these companies just we have cheap labor. Just from my own
experience, I can hardly image that if Apple moves their factors back, what a
high price of Iphone or Ipad will be. In China, the employment pressure is much
greater than U.S. Our working environment can’t be compared with Americans’. Many
unfair things are exist, because in Chinese labor market, the supply is much
over the demand. This news report let me start to think about this situation in
China, which I didn’t pay much attention when I was there. Because this phenomenon
in China is common, many people think it is normal to work hard to earn money,
there is no report directly to ask whether we give out more values than we get back
from others. On the contrary, the reports
I read on New York Times let me think deeply. At last, I think the most regretful
thing is that I don’t have lot of backgrounds of American history and culture,
so I can’t have similar thinking with American news. But this newspaper lets me
know a lot about American, and gives me more chance to read. It is very helpful
for me to improve my skim ability.
The news I mentioned is here:

I love hearing your perspective on American work ethic vs. Chinese work ethic. Being from America its obvious there is a lot of propaganda spread in regards to the outsourcing of jobs to China but it is interesting to hear a Chinese perspective on the matter
